As a two-dimensional artist, I was fascinated by the illusion of light, which eventually led me to explore its physical dimensions. Through experimentation with how light moves through various materials, I discovered a unique form of artistic expression. This process inspired the creation of my light sculptures and the desire to share them with others through a business platform.
My passion for color began early—I was drawing with colored pencils before preschool, constantly seeking new ways to apply color to everything. Whenever I went into town, I asked for art supplies. After moving from my birthplace, Las Vegas, New Mexico, to Santa Fe—now a major Southwest art hub—I became immersed in its creative scene. Just two miles from my parents’ home, Canyon Road was home to one of Santa Fe’s first fine art supply stores, where I often met established artists from Santa Fe and Taos. There, I began painting scenes inspired by my favorite fantasy artists, captivated by how they blended color to bring their works to life.
In high school, I balanced this creative side with an elective in mechanical drafting, which I continued into architectural drafting by senior year. This introduced me to the precision of measured design and the world of physical sciences. My curiosity about color, form, and dimension found deeper meaning through scientific study. Today, I blend that understanding with my artistic vision to create both two- and three-dimensional artworks that reflect the magic and structure of the natural world.
